Welcome Back Tiger.

image

Well it’s been over 900 days since Tiger Woods won a golf tournament that mattered. I find it sad but it’s the truth. Tiger Woods is good for the game of golf.  It is undeniable that he attracts a lot of people to the game and draws huge crowds.

March Madness Has Begun

March is a fun time for America, and the world for a matter of the fact, because this is a time where people join together and try to predict who will win their matches in the round of 68.  Lets not forget the NIT too.  March Madness brings people together to argue, disagree, and debate a teams qualifications, potential, and deficiencies in their bid to win the national title.  What is nice about March Madness is that at the end of the day, there is a clear winner always, unlike the BCS system of college football.

4G/LTE Expanded in Tucson?

Although not announced, it looks like the reach of 4G/LTE in Tucson has gotten stronger.  At one time Verizon Wireless claims I lived in a area of extended coverage.  Well, that meant I did not have 4G coverage.  Well for the last week and a half, I have had consistent 2 bars of 4G on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola Droid Bionic.  Even though I appreciate the super fast download speeds, I have had to change the battery at home more frequently.  Nevertheless, I finally get to use what I have been paying for.

Installing Multiple ROMs on Your Galaxy Nexus 4G/LTE using Boot Manager Pro

UPDATE (10/02/2012): Sad news.  This app is confirmed not to work on devices running Jelly Bean.  This works on Ice Cream Sandwich and below.  Second the app developers have abandoned this project and will not respond to emails.  Therefore this app is now “as-is” and I cannot seriously recommend this app to anyone looking to flash Jelly Bean ROMs.

So why did we get a Galaxy Nexus in the first place? Unlocked bootloaders. Well the first thing I did when I got my phone on release day was to unlock the bootloader and root it. For the past 3 months I have not done anything with custom ROMs because I was enjoying the stock Android 4.0.2 Ice Cream Sandwich. I just did not feel like dedicating hours of my life flashing ROMs left and right as in the Original Droid days. Then a magical (not new though) app appeared in my life.

Boot Manager Pro produced by Init2Winit Applications allows you to install custom ROMs on your SD card. I did not want to get rid of the stock experience but seriously wanted to see what is available out there. Boot Manager Pro allows me to store my stock ICS ROM as the default “phoneRom.” This is the fall back ROM. With the Pro version you can install 5 different ROMs. Since I have heard so much about the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP), I will give it a shot.
